Ctg JP leader’s body recovered a month after missing

Shawdesh desk: The body of a Chattogram Jatiya Party leader was recovered early hours of Saturday one month after he went missing.

Police recovered the decomposed body of Anwar Hossain, 40, from near his farm house at Darbesh Hat area in Lohagara upazila of Chattogram at around 12:30am.

He was the vice president of Lohagara upazila unit Jatiya Party.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Satkania Circle) Jakaria Rahman said a Rohingya youthnamed Ansar, 22, was arrested from Kutupalong camp of Cox’s Bazar recently.

Later, based on his information, police dug out Anwar’s body from his farm house last night.

Anwar went missing one month back after he left home for his farm house. Failing to contact him, family members filed a missing diary with Lohagara Police Station.

Later, the low enforcers opened an investigation and came to know that two Rohingya youths had been working with Anwar at his cattle farm and they also went missing soon after Anwar disappeared, said the police official.

Police tracked Ansar and detained him from Cox’s Bazar where he told the law enforcers that Anwar was buried after murder.

Based on his information, police searched the farm house in the upazila’s Darbesh Hat and recovered the decomposed body, he added.
Police were trying to arrest the other suspect.
